H.P. Lovecraft Cthulhu-inspired Mugs
If you aren't affraid of the dark, you're not reading enough H.P. Lovecraft... Feel you need to inspire a little titilation of fear around your home? Or around someone elses? How about a little reminder that sometimes, it may be right to be a little scared of the shadows, with these "Late-Night tales of Horror from the Necronomicon"
These mugs are inspired from Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. Lovecraft's work has become so ubiquitous in our own mythology, that the very book he invented (The Necronomicon) has been absorbed so deeply it is refenced sometimes as having a greater history than the about 100 years since Lovecraft first mentions it...
I worked off and on on these designs for about 8 months, struggling to create images that, for me, represent Lovecraft's mythos. I am finally happy with what I have created, and so have heat sublimated them onto high-quality, AAA-bright white mugs.
There are now 3 designs: One design is a re-created section of Henri Fuseli's painting, bearing a quote from From Beyond, "We shall see that at which dogs howl in the dark, and that at which cats prick up their ears after midnight".
The second is, possibly, one of my favourite quotes: The artwork here is my own designs. From The Call of Cthulhu, "That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons, even death may die."
The 3rd is a floating Octopodal skull, with it's own occult symbol, "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming" on 1 side, the other the same, but in Lovecrafts own languge, "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'yleh wgah'nagl fhtagn."
PRODUCT INFO
The mug is a high-quality, 11oz (300ml), bright-white finish. They are (approx) 9.5cm tall and 8cm diameter. Each is hand-printed in Yorkshire.
They are microwave & Dishwasher safe, though I recommend maximise the life-span of the mugs, please wash in the top tray of your dishwasher (from personal experience, I have over 300 washes on mugs I have made, with no colour fade or loss of gloss yet). As with all things, hand washing will achieve the greatest longevity.
The mugs are shipped in a plain cardboard smash-proof recyclable box.
